The Story of Scott McBrien

No two paths are the same, and that was certainly the case for a certain kid from Kensington, Maryland.

Scott founded the McBrien Group Foundation to help young football players maximize their potential and improve their chances of college recruitment. Driven by his own experiences navigating the recruiting process, Scott wanted to provide a structured pathway for the next generation of student athletes.

Scott's journey is a testament to resilience and seizing opportunities against all odds. Standing five-foot-ten and weighing 150 pounds in high school, Scott faced countless setbacks as he chased his college football dreams, going into his senior year without a single college offer.

Despite an undefeated season and a WCAC championship, college interest remained elusive until the University of Rhode Island extended an offer in January. The real game-changer, however, came just two weeks before signing day, when a call from West Virginia University led to an official visit, an unexpected offer, and a commitment that set him on a path to success.

From there, Scott would eventually wind up at the University of Maryland, where he won two bowl game MVPs in back-to-back seasons. He spent time with the Green Bay Packers, played in both NFL Europe and the CFL, and worked in broadcasting with the Big10 Network. His foundation now helps young athletes overcome obstacles, providing them with the support, mentorship, and exposure he once needed to transform his own challenges into opportunities.
