MGF: Our Story
The Scott McBrien Story
After transferring to DeMatha Catholic High School and leading his team to be ranked 13th in the nation, Scott McBrien had just one scholarship offer to his name. An eventual call from Don Nehlen at West Virginia University led McBrien to a visit, and soon after, a second scholarship.
A year passed in Morgantown and in came a new regime, putting McBrien and his college career on the fence, until an opportunity back home presented itself. McBrien transferred to the University of Maryland, where he had to sit a year, walk-on and earn his spot. His patience paid off, as he would earn the starting job and lead the Maryland Terrapins to back-to-back bowl-winning seasons.
His rise over those two years landed him a spot with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent, and he continued his professional career with the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe.
